PCS-SEG Luncheon Lecture – CSUB Graduate Students – Kari Hochstatter, Cindy Rodriguez & Craig Hulsey

We are pleased to have our next technical luncheon on Thursday, April 8th at noon. This virtual luncheon will be held through Zoom.

This month is a special session featuring three speakers from the graduate geology program at Cal State Bakersfield. Typically, our society hosts an annual poster session with CSUB’s geology students. With the Covid-19 restrictions still in place, the society has decided to invite a handful of Master’s candidates to present brief virtual talks on their current research. The speakers and titles of their talks are listed below.

Additionally, the society will be awarding our annual field camp scholarship to this year’s CSUB Outstanding Geology Student.

Talks:

Kari Hochstatter – “X-ray Diffraction Mineralogic Analyses on Core Samples of the San Joaquin Basin, California: A Pilot Study for Kaolinite to Dickite Diagenesis”

Kari Hochstatter Abstract & Bio

Cindy Rodriguez – “The Impact of the 2016 Erskine Fire on Soil Properties”
